I Sewed!

Well, it has been awhile since I've sewed something. My history of sewing is not the greatest. I took a sewing class in High School when I was a sophomore. Needless to say everything I sewed fell apart.
Then I worked at EK Accessories in Logan UT during two of my off tracks when I was in college. I worked in production of outdoor accessories and one of the area's was sewing. I didn't work in sewing for long. I never made quota and my supervisors hated me back there. I messed up the machines, broke needles, etc. I was frustrated as was my supervisor. Once I stopped going to sewing, I made my quota plus some in the other departments like packaging and pad printing. It all worked out in the end and I received raises for exceeding the quotas.
A few years ago and friend and I sewed a flag for our husbands cub scout troop. Wow, we were brilliant! Kim knew much more than I, but we weren't seamstress. We put letters on backwards and it was just a mess, but we got it done, and in the end it didn't look to shabby!
So that's my history. I always wanted to sew a baby blanket for Noah but I never did. I was so tired from working when I was pregnant it just never happened. I was determined to sew one this time around for the new baby. So here it is! Thank heavens for blog tutorials and YouTube! How did people live without the internet?!

I just had to throw these pictures in! Here is Trent and Noah watching Conference this morning. So cute!

Even if this blanket looks like a blind person in China made it, I still like it! The stitching is not straight, and I really hope it holds together after a few washes! Oh well I do like this imperfect blanket!
PS, I do feel guilty that I never made Noah one so I am going to make one. His will be with the train fabric as well, but the inside will be a blue fabric. I still need to figure out how exactly I will make it since there is more yards of fabric. I will probably tie it. Anyhow, I will post that later. Wish me luck!

Heather,
I agree we weren't the best at sewing. I'm so proud of you, the blanket looks awesome!
